Tucked behind the HEB in Seguin, 1838 Grill has quietly become the town's go-to spot for honest, home-style cooking. There's nothing fussy about it — just scratch-made plates, generous portions, and a kitchen that treats a chicken fried steak like it's the most important thing on the menu, because here, it is.
Regulars know to come hungry. The chicken fried steak covers the plate with a crust that doesn't overpower the meat underneath, and the Chicken Alfredo is famously large enough for two. Every table gets the same warm, attentive service, whether it's a quiet Tuesday lunch or a birthday party of twenty.
